Newton, N.H. — John Roger Peltier, 69, died on April 1, 2013, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was born on December 12, 1943, in Haverhill, son of the late Charles and Pearl (Scott) Peltier. A resident of Newton, N.H., for the last 20 years, John grew up in Kingston, N.H., and was a former longtime resident of Newburyport. John was self-employed as a carpenter for many years and had worked for 10 years as a maintenance worker for M & V Electroplating Corporation in Newburyport. He was also formerly self-employed as a logger in Newton, N.H.
John was a member of the South Hampton Rod & Gun Club. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was also very fond of his pets especially his dog Shadow.
John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alice (Rogers) Peltier of Newton, N.H.; two daughters, Linda P. Garon of Berlin, N.H., Julie A. Shepard of Nottingham, N.H.; one son, Scott C. Peltier of Kingston, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-sons, Jim Rogers of Methuen, Scott Rogers of Raymond, N.H.; two brothers, James Peltier of Meadow Vista, Calif., Jerry Martel of N.H.; three sisters, Eileen Keller of Exeter, N.H., Dorothy Burke of Virginia Beach, Va., Debra Liszewski of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Riverside Cemetery, Elm St., Newmarket, N.H. Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, N.H., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
