Barbara Jean Spear, 63

Wells, Maine — Barbara Jean Spear, also known as BJ, 63 years, a resident of Coles Hill Road, Wells, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her home.

BJ was born in Newburyport, on June 1, 1949 a daughter of Roland M. and Doris M. (Drown) Waddell. She graduated from Newburyport High School. After graduating, she was a telephone operator for New England Telephone for 29 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Bell Retirement Association.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping. She especially enjoyed going to Disney World in Orlando, twice a year for the last 25 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents. BJ is survived by her husband of 23 years, Robert A. Spear “Bobby” of Wells; a son, Scott Twombly and his wife, Lynne of Ossipee, N.H.; two step-daughters, Nancy Kamau and her husband, James of Springvale, Maine and Bobbie-Jo Dubois of Sanford; a brother, Roland Waddell and his wife, Maureen of Newburyport, and a sister Robin Kubsch and her husband Gerald of Cypress, exas; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial visitation will be held Monday, April 1, 2013 from 6-8PM at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday April 2, 2013 at the Chapel with Rev. Debra Hanson officiating.
