ROWLEY — Forrest R. Warner, Jr., 89, husband of Mildred E. (Grinnell) Warner of Railroad Avenue, Rowley, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following his long illness.
Born in Ipswich June 17, 1923 son of the late Forrest R. and Edith G. (Currier) Warner , he was raised in Rowley and attended public schools in both Rowley and in Ipswich from where he graduated. Throughout the years Mr. Warner worked for Martin Dugan Plumbing and Heating , Lynn Cement Line Pipe Co., Boston Naval Shipyard and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter and at General Dynamic Electric Boat Yard in CT having worked on the first nuclear submarine. In 1953 he returned to Rowley and was employed as a self-employed general contractor for the next thirty-eight years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the John T. Heard Masonic Lodge, AF&AM, Newburyport Commandry, Amesbury Council, Valley of Boston in Salem, Scottish Rite & York Rite, Aleppo Shrine and the Heard Chapter O.E.S. #99 in Ipswich.
Mr. Warner and his wife enjoyed square dancing, snowmobiling, his mopeds, boating and fishing in the local waters, and camping, having traveled and camped in forty-nine states and ten Canadian Provinces.
In addition to his wife of sixty-eight years he is survived by two sons, Richard Warner and his friend Barbara Maquire both of Ipswich and Forrest Warner III and his wife Mariah of Haverhill; a daughter-in-law Marlene Warner and Henry Jackman both of Rochester, NH; five grandchildren, Richard Warner and his wife Judy of Rowley, Corinna Warner of Rowley, Lanette Warner of Haverhill, Theresa Warner of Haverhill and Natalie Warner of Raymond, NH, and four great grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Rebecca and Victoria Warner. He was the brother of the late Ralph E. Warner formerly of Rowley and Wendell E. Warner formerly of Georgetown.
