Methuen — Helen I. (Lysik) Koch, age 88, U.S. Navy Veteran, former Amesbury resident, died Monday morning January 21, 2013 at Nevins Nursing and Rehab Center in Methuen.
Born in Amesbury, on October 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late, Paul and Josephine (Genvorz) Lysik. She was a graduate of Amesbury High School.
Helen entered the U.S. Navy serving during World War II from May 17, 1945 until her honorable discharge on June 18, 1946. Following discharge, she was employed by the Department of the Army for 20 years.
She is survived by her sister, Irene Plouff and her husband, Raymond of Newburyport, along with many generations of nieces and nephews, and three stepchildren, Lisa Yuill, Wayne Koch and William Koch. She was predeceased by her husband, William Koch; her brother, John Lysik; and her sisters, Anna Darbyshire, Julia Lysik, Pauline Lysik and Frances Chouinard.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services are being planned for springtime 2013 and will be announced by Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
