Amesbury — Nancy G. (Pillsbury) Hartwell, age 81, lifelong Amesbury resident, died peacefully Thursday morning at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Amesbury, August 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Bertha (Tenney) Pillsbury and was a graduate of Amesbury High School, after which she attended a two-year business college.
For many years Nancy had worked as a secretary at Brazonics in Amesbury.
Her family was the center of her life. She shared with them her joy of reading, traveling, gardening, and the importance of family. A dedicated follower of the New England sports teams, Nancy was an avid Patriots fan.
She was the beloved wife of the late Paul H. Hartwell, Jr., who died October 20, 2011. Her survivors include her son, Mark Bennett and wife Yvette; her daughter, Susan Passler and husband Gary; her two granddaughters, Jenna Passler and husband Steve and Nicole Bennett; her two great-grandsons, Jameson and Kristopher Mitchell, all of Amesbury; her brother, Retired Lt. Col. Fred Pillsbury of Atwater, CA; her sister, Jane Pare of Amesbury; her three nephews, Brian, Glenn and David; her two nieces, Laura and Christine, along with many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
