Boxford — Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” (Dorion) Ruddock, 82, of Boxford, formerly of Peabody, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday afternoon. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. “Coach” Ruddock.
Born in Salem, Ginny was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Mary (McHugh) Dorion. She was a resident of Boxford for over 10 years, previously residing in Peabody and Lynn. She also enjoyed winters in Naples, Fla. In earlier years, Ginny worked at both the Essex Trust Bank and the Columbia National Bank.
Ginny volunteered at the Hogan Regional Center, teaching swimming to special needs students, and also volunteered at Lynn Hospital. An avid reader, she also loved cooking, telling stories to her grandchildren, and attending their many activities.
She leaves her children, David C. Ruddock and his wife, Cindy, of Boxford, Mark E. Ruddock and his late wife, Kathy, of Amesbury, Gary D. Ruddock and his wife, Donna, of Merrimack, N.H., and Meredith R. Norton and her husband, Leo, of Amesbury. She was the sister of Maureen Deyesso and her husband, Bob, of Hampton Falls, N.H. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin and his wife, Liz, Evan, Jillian, Tyler, Ryan and Kristen Ruddock, and Connor and Daniel Norton; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Ginny’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Michael J.
