Rowley — Town of Rowley Highway Surveyor, Scott Leavitt, age 53, husband of Lea Ann (Buckley) Leavitt, of Rowley, died on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the Lahey Clinic Burlington following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Educated in local schools, he proudly served in the National Guard for ten years and for the past 20 years has been the Town of Rowley Highway Surveyor. More recently he was also the town’s Tree Warden. He was a longtime member of the Rowley Veteran’s Association where he has been Weekend Manager for the past five years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, John, Michele, Leland, and Alex; two brothers, Peter Leavitt and Donald Carpenter; two sisters, Linda Sudol and Wendy Earle; two grandchildren, Brianna and Shyann and a large extended family. He was predeceased by a sister, Gail Carpenter.
ARRANGEMENTS: A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St, Rowley. A celebration of Scott’s life will continue on Wednesday in the Rowley Veteran’s Association, Rowley VFW Post 5707, 19 Bradford St, Rowley, from 2 to 8 p.m.
