NEWBURYPORT — Yvonne Shirley (Bradshaw) Zagranis, 83, a lifelong resident of Newburyport, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born and raised in Newburyport to the late Robert and Yvonne (Levesque) Bradwshaw. She attended Saint Louis De Gonzaque grammar school as well as Newburyport High School, graduating in 1946. She later went on to attend Lynn Burdett College.
Yvonne worked for 11 years as an executive secretary at Bell Labs in North Andover and after retirement took a job at the Garrison Inn Newburyport. She was a people pleasing person, always there to provide guidance and support for her extended family and friends. She was a communicant of the Church of Saint Louis De Gonzaque in Newburyport all her life.
Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, the late Edward P. Zagranis. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Zagranis) Rohrbacher and husband Mark of Charleston, S.C.; and brothers, Robert and George Bradshaw. She was predeceased by brothers, Roy and Allen Bradshaw. She is also survived by two grandsons, Tyler Rohrbacher and Justin Rohrbacher of California; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prior to admission to Hospice, her cousin, Raymond Larnard was her caregiver and close friend. She considered him to be a son to her.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her committal prayers at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newburyport. Memorial contributions may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice at Home Health Foundation, Attn. Lauren Gallimi, Development Associate, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
