Amesbury, MA — Alice B. (Gagnon) Michaud, 93, formerly of Amesbury, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Athol (MA) Hospital.
Born on March 4, 1920, in Amesbury, she was a daughter of Ferdnand and Olivia (Belletete) Gagnon and was one of nine children and grew up in Amesbury and attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Amesbury High in 1939.
In 1943, she married Robert E. Michaud and enjoyed 46 years together until his death in 1989.
Alice was devoted to her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as to all her extended family. She cherished her time caring and being with them. She always had her camera ready to take photographs of all the celebrations and get togethers.
Besides caring for her family, Alice enjoyed gardening and plants and after moving to Orange in the mid 1990s, she helped her son and daughter-in-law in the greenhouses at Maple Valley Farm in North Orange. Alice had also worked as a salesclerk in Amesbury.
Alice had been a member of Sacred Heart Church in Amesbury and had attended St. Mary’s Church in Orange.
Survivors include her son, Robert Michaud Jr. and his wife, Dianne, of North Orange; grandchildren, Matthew Michaud of Groveland, Derek Michaud and Nicole Michaud, both of Salisbury, Melissa Brown of New York, Andre Michaud of Watertown, and James Michaud of New York; a brother, Joseph Laurent of California; numerous nephews and nieces; daughters-in-law, Cindy Michaud of Salisbury and Debbie Michaud of Belchertown.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Ronald E. Michaud and Andre R. Michaud, and seven siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the E.V. Jutras and Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend Street, Amesbury, MA 01913. 978-388-0430.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Amesbury.
