Somerset, CA — Bob was born on January 25, 1944, in Northumberland, Pa., to the late William and Catharine (Lenker) Liddington. He died on October 29, 2013, in a tragic tractor accident at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Jr. and Ronald; sisters, Barbara, Deanne and Judith; and a son, Timothy. He survived by his wife of 38 years, Katherine (Cookie); sister, Phyllis (Fred) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Robert W. Liddington of Fairplay, Calif., and Mark (Alberta) Liddington of Knightsen, Calif.; and daughters, Cindy (Dave) Liddington of Somerset, Galiena (Jayson) Hasbrouck of Antioch, Calif., Deborah (Randal) VanderGaast of Tipton, Iowa, and Liane (Nannette) Stressenger of Manchester, N.H.; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved Doxies, Brandy and Lucy.
He married Judy Vanderhoof in 1963, and they had three children together. In 1976, he married Katherine (Leger) Stressenger and adopted her two children, and they also had 18 foster children. He was a devoted father and husband who taught his children the value of hard work.
Bob was an Airman 2nd Class radar operator in the Air Force in Okinawa, Japan, in the 1960s.
He had an master's degree from the University of Phoenix. He was a supervisor in power control at PG&E for 27 years. He was a supervisor in water resources for the State of California for 10 years.
In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and pups. He was a member of the El Dorado RV Club.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Life will be held at Bob’s home at 7551 Van Pooka Court, Somerset, on Tuesday, November 5, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Brentwood, Calif., at a later date.
