Seabrook — Herbert Lester Luce, 84, a resident of Seabrook, N.H., died on Thursday August 15, 2013, at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation–Brigham in Newburyport. He was born on May 18, 1929 in Woodsville, N.H., to the late Perley and Evelyn (Dugee) Luce. Herbert attended school in Ludlow, Vt., graduating the 11th grade at Black River High School, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Herbert and his wife of 63 years, Florence, moved to Ipswich, where they raised their family. They then moved to Seabrook, where they lived for several years together.
He was employed for over 40 years by several local automobile dealerships as a service manager, until his retirement in 1994. During his retirement years, he was employed as a driver for Salter Transportation for 10 years, and also enjoyed time spent in his Amesbury Bowling League.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Florence (Budrow) Luce of Seabrook; daughter, Diana Gammons and her husband, Bucky, of Newburyport; granddaughter, Amanda Denise and her husband, Rob, of Raymond, N.H.; great-grandsons, RJ and Joshua Denise; nephew, Bobby Luce and his wife, Dawn, of Connecticut; and as his brother, Robert Luce and his wife, Theresa, of Connecticut.
ARRANGEMENTS: Herbert’s Funeral Services will be private, with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Seabrook at a later date.
