Rowley, MA — Lis (Hansen) Lanham, 80, a longtime Rowley resident, passed away on August 24, 2013. She was the widow of Noel W.J. Lanham.
Born in Odense, Denmark on November 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Petra (Ludvigsen) Hansen.
Lis and her husband, Noel, emigrated from England to the U.S. In 1966. They made their home in Rowley where they raised their 3 children.
Lis enjoyed time with family, friends and neighbors. She cared for nature and spent many hours walking outdoors and bird watching from her porch. She was skilled at embroidery, knitting, sewing and had a great sense of style.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her greatest joy was time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Susan and her husband, Daniel Sullivan, of Boca Raton, Fla.; son, Nicholas and his wife, Jean Lanham and their children, Austin and Phoebe of Newburyport; and daughter, Lisa and her husband, Timothy Meehan, of Newbury.
