Newburyport — Bob lost his courageous battle fighting cancer on September 30, at the Hospice House, Haverhill with his loving family by his side.
He was born during a snowstorm at home on January 20, 1934, in Newburyport, to the belated Francis Valli and Beatrice (Goodrich) Gaynor. Leaving his wife and caregiver, Joyce (LaValley) Valli; four sons, Robert and his wife, Alberta, Jeffrey and his wife, Michelle, Mark, Scott and his partner, Donna; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four step-children, Joyce and her husband, Jr. Filippone, Tony Hawkes and his wife, Jen, Kelli and her husband, Jeff Goucher, and Kerri Cronin; brother, Richard; sister, Jean Morrison; 14 step-grandchildren; two great-step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by brothers, Frank and John Valli.
Bob enjoyed all sports with football being his favorite. He liked talking politics and telling stories from the past. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of life will be held at The North End Boat Club, 1 Mason Avenue, Newburyport on Saturday, November 2, 4 to 9 p.m.
