Susan (Maloney) Dennett, 57


Georgetown — Susan (Maloney) Dennett, 57, a resident of Georgetown, formerly of West Newbury, died at her home of pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Melrose, Mass., on August 22, 1956, to Walter and Marguerite (Donovan) Maloney. Raised in Wakefield Susan graduated from Wakefield High School, Class of 1974. Following High School she attended the University of Missouri pursuing her dream to become a Sports Reporter. As roles in her life changed she attended Northern Essex Community College and graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing. She was employed by several area hospitals until most recently at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Susan's care and compassion for her patients was always her main priority. She truly enjoyed helping others and giving back to those in need. She went on to pursue her Master’s Degree and graduated from Boston College in May 2013 as an Advanced Practice Nurse specializing in Adult Health and Palliative Care.

She was an avid sports fan routing for all of the New England teams. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic which was one of her favorite destinations. She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and especially spending time with her 3 loving grandsons. She was a devoted and loving mother and was very proud of her daughters, Sarah and Katie

Susan is survived by her daughters, Sarah Dennett of Georgetown, Katelyn Accardi and her husband, Christopher, of Newburyport; mother, Marguerite Maloney of Wakefield; grandchildren, Christian, Julian and Cameron; siblings, Maureen Jenks of N.H., Walter Maloney and his wife, Tracey, of Wakefield, Michelle Pruskin and her husband, Marc, of Marlborough, Maryanne Brennan of Wakefield, Marguerite Maloney of Wakefield; nieces and nephews, Maura, Ryan, Jillian, Kelsey, Abby, Jade, Morgan, Garrett, and Avery; as well as great-nephew, Hayden. She also leaves behind countless devoted friends that will miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her former husband of 32 years, Richard K. Dennett Jr.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Twomey LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, also in Newburyport.
