Mary L. “Moocha” (Cahoon) Sanford, 52, of Pekin Illinois, died suddenly on February 2, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of Curtis Sanford.
Born in Newburyport on April 7, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Leota (Eaton) Cahoon and had resided in Newburyport prior to moving to Illinois where she was employed at Excalibur Inc. of Pekin, Ill.
Moocha enjoyed making gift baskets and browsing yard sales for interesting finds. She had a fondness for animals and her dog, but most of all, she treasured time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Rachel Laginess of Zephyrhills, FL; three grandchildren, Gage, Sid and Olivia; four brothers, Fred, John, Michael and Francis Cahoon; five sisters, Lucinda, Dolores, Doreen, Rebecca and Louann; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Stephen and James Cahoon.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Wednesday, Feb. 8th, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service from the funeral home will be Thursday at 11A.M. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mary Sanford may be made to Rachel Laginess, 5709 Autumn Shire Drive, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.
