Newburyport — Wanda M. (Adamowicz) Jurek, 92, of Newburyport, died peacefully on May 6, 2013, with family by her side.
She was born in Newburyport, Mass., August 26, 1920, to the late Wincenty and Josephine (Rosyna) Adamowicz.
Wanda attended Immaculate Conception School in Newburyport. She worked in the shoe factories in Newburyport and Haverhill. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking, but most of all loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Wanda was predeceased by her husband, Adam Jurek; daughter, June Greenleaf-Agapow; brothers, John and Edward Adamowicz; and a sister, Helen (Adamowicz) Archie.
Her survivors include her son, Ron and his wife, Judy (Hayes) Jurek of Ft. Myers, Fla.; daughters, Letty Mills and her significant other, George Tarr of Newburyport and Lorna and her husband, Rollie Kneeland of Rowley; grandchildren, Jill (Jurek) and Tim Ryan of Milford, N.H., April (Jurek) and Steve Riese of Mantecca, Calif., Jeanne Kneeland of Gafton, Mass., Jason Kneeland of Rowley, Jon and Karen (Iannone) Greenleaf of Cambridge, Mass., Carrie (Greenleaf) and Chris Raimondo of St. Marys, Ga., Melissa (Mills) and Mark Bedard of Stratham, N.H., and Michelle (Mills) and Brad Faria of Exeter, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jackson, Amanda, Nathan, Teddy, Cassie, Evan, Emelyn, Zoey, Brody and Isabella.; and nephews, Kenny Archie of Newburyport and Edward Adamowicz.
