Groveland, MA — Josephine A. “Dolly” (Lima) Moriarty, 79, of Groveland, died Saturday, May 11 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.
She was born in Chelsea, January 26, 1934, daughter of the late John J. and Mary (Belmonte) Lima and sister of Maryann.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Moriarty was deeply loved by her family and friends and enjoyed their company, traveling with them and quiet time at home with her loving husband, Tom.
Dolly was raised and educated in Revere, graduating from Revere High School, Class of 1951. After graduating, she attended the Kathleen Dell Business School. She was employed, for a time, as an executive secretary for various Boston companies. Dolly and her husband, Tom, moved to Groveland in 1964, and she was employed at the former Hale Hospital Pharmacy and Business Office for more than 20 years from where she retired. Mrs. Moriarty was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was a math aide at the Bagnall School, Groveland.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Thomas J. Moriarty of Groveland, who was ever by her side; a son, Brian and his wife, Christine Moriarty of Stoneham; a daughter, Paula and her husband, Paul Buresh of Needham; four grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb and Luke Moriarty, and Joseph Buresh.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Thursday morning, May 16 at 10 a.m. from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Church, Haverhill. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
