Amesbury, MA — William A. Bradshaw, Jr., age 80, of Amesbury, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of the late Louise W. (Shippee) Bradshaw.
Born in Newburyport, November 26, 1932, son of the late William A. and Irene J. (Lowell) Bradshaw, he was a graduate of Newburyport High School.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, he served with the United States Navy from December 22, 1949, until his honorable discharge on December 21, 1952 .
He worked as a machinist at Amesbury Plastics, after which he worked at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport until his retirement.
As a longtime member of the North End Boat Club in Newburyport, Bill was an avid outdoors man who loved the beach, boating, fishing and camping.
His survivors include his son, William A Bradshaw, III and wife, Allison, of Ellsworth, Maine; his five grandchildren, Erin Moaratty of Poquoson, Va., Matthew Bradshaw and wife, Stephanie, of Ellsworth, Maine, Megan Bradshaw of Virginia, and Mia and Adam Bradshaw of Ellsworth, Maine; three great-grandchildren, Connor and Cianan Moaratty and Malakai Bradshaw; along with many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service for relatives and friends will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Section of Union Cemetery, Amesbury. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
