Newburyport — Lorraine L. (Jack) LeBel, 81, beloved wife of 53 years to the late Richard L. LeBel, died Monday morning, May 13, 2013, at her home in Newburyport.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Agnes Jack. She graduated from Girls’ Latin School and the Boston Clerical School, Class of 1950.
Mrs. LeBel had been employed for 20 years as an administrative assistant at the Masconomet High School in Topsfield.
Lorraine was most proud of her family, including her five children and 13 grandchildren. She was an avid reader, knitter, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved being with her family.
Surviving her are two sons, Paul H. LeBel and his wife, Julie, of Beverly and Richard E. LeBel and his wife, Tonya, of Atkinson, N.H.; two daughters, Lorraine A. Denman and her husband, Thomas, of Byfield and Lisa M. Hancock of Ipswich; her daughter-in-law, Beth LeBel of Beverly Farms, 13 grandchildren; a sister, Claire E. MacQuilkin and her husband, John, of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Kenneth R. LeBel.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Georgetown, Friday, May 17, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Boxford.
