Jack R. L'Hommedieu, 76

Georgetown — Born December 1, 1935 in Chester, Pa. to the late Josephine (Irons) and Raymond W. L’Hommedieu, he died September 27, after a brief illness.

A 1957 and 1961 graduate of MIT, Jack was educated as a mechanical engineer, but he was so much more, a true “Jack of all trades”. Over the years he worked as a carpenter, fisherman, lobsterman, and general handyman. His love of the outdoors guided his life and he always worked with a smile. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he treasured.

Jack leaves his devoted wife of 53 years, Cathy; his loving daughters Susanne Stuart and her husband Ken, and Nancy Gallagher and her husband John; and his adoring grandchildren John, Patrick, Thomas and Keely Gallagher, and Heather Stuart.

She was also the dear sister of the late Lois Tilton and is survived by six grandchildren. Doris was a longtime realtor serving Amesbury, Salisbury and Newburyport.
