Topsfield — Patricia (McNeill) Lang, age 86, formerly of Salem and Seabrook, N.H., loving wife of Eugene D. Lang, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage, died Tuesday, September 25, at her residence in Topsfield, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salem, Mrs. Lang was the daughter of the late Guy A. and C. Estelle (Cottle) McNeill. She was raised in Salem and had attended St. Mary’s Grammar School and graduated from Salem High School. Following high school, Mrs. Lang married her husband, Eugene, on May 7, 1944.
Mrs. Lang started her career at Empire Clothing Store in Salem where she worked in the Boy’s Department for many years. She owned and operated Pat’s Ceramics from her home. She was a very talented craftsman and enjoyed teaching her skills to her students.
Mrs. Lang had a big heart and enjoyed helping people. She had a great flair for interior decorating and made her home beautiful and welcoming. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting many get togethers at her home. Family and friends were most important to Mrs. Lang. She was very interested in genealogy, tracing her family back as far as possible.
Mrs. Lang and her husband were avid travelers. They visited many places and most especially enjoyed cruising and their trips to Florida as well as their trip to Nashville to enjoy country music. Mr. and Mrs. Lang also had an interest in the American Civil War, so they included trips to Gettysburg and Antietam.
Mrs. Lang had many interests and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed reading historical Civil War novels.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband, are her children, Jeanne Hue of Winchendon, Pamela Ricupero and her husband Thomas of Topsfield, with whom she resided; her “daughter” Pat Kantorosinski of Salem; two sisters, Arlene Dickinson and Helen Call, both of Salem; two grandchildren, Tamie Mitchell and her husband Jay of Manchester, N.H., Patricia Iaconeta of Gorham, Maine; four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Mitchell and Natalie and Dominic Iaconeta and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lang was also the mother of the late David Lang and sister of the late Grace Gaudet, Joan Dunn and Robert McNeill and grandmother of the late Katie Hue.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, One Margin St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the Mass at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St.), Salem, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery.
