Amesbury — Janet H. Mellon, wife of the late Albin S. Mellon, passed away on Wednesday at the Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport. She was born in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdelena (Fedorovich) Janick.
She was raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge Latin High School. For most of their married life, Janet and her husband Albin worked in the restaurant business and for nearly 20 years, owned and operated the Amesbury Golf and Country Club on Monroe St. in Amesbury. During the 1950's, she attended and graduated from hairdressing school and enjoyed cutting and styling hair.
She is survived by one son, Albin "Butch" Mellon of Amesbury; one grandson, Michael Mellon and wife Patty of Amesbury; one grandaughter, Marie Royle and husband Jim of Newton, N.H.; four great-grandchildren, Eric and Meagan MacQueen and Alexa and Katie Mellon; and one sister, Claire Bogosian of Amesbury. She was the mother of the late Ricky Mellon.
ARRANGEMENTS: Janet's funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 2,at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St., Amesbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Tough Warrior Princesses" 80 Monroe St. Amesbury, MA. 01913. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
