Brentwood, N.H. — Rich Nichols, 50, of Brentwood, N.H. passed away peacefully at Exeter Hospital on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Richie was born in Sierra Madre, Calif. in 1961. The family moved back to South Boston in 1963 where they lived until 1969, then moving to Amesbury. Here, Richie spent his youth exploring nearby forests and learning 300 different bird species at Plum Island. He was an All-League high school basketball player, leading the Indians to a state championship in 1979-80. He studied microbiology at Fitchburg State University, graduating in 1985 and was the president of Green Technical Services, where he worked for the past eight years.
Richie met his future spouse, Joanne, in 1982, marrying her in 1992. Rich and Joanne have three children, Joanna (18), Sarah (14), and Richie (11). He was especially known for the deep love he held for his family.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter, N.H. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
