Haverhill, MA — Robert D. Bailey, 82, died on April 5, 2014, at The Oxford Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Haverhill, Mass. He was born in Haverhill on August 31, 1931, and was the son of the late Robert D. Bailey and Elsie Nolan.
Mr. Bailey grew up in Haverhill, and was also a longtime resident of Newburyport, Mass. He worked for Bailey Corp. in Seabrook, for many years. He loved woodworking and the outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, and he was an avid gardener.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Lois (Walker) Bailey; a daughter, Sally Bailey; his brother, Bill Bailey; and two grandchildren, Steven Garrett and Ashley Bailey. He is survived by three daughters, Susan Packer of Newburyport, Bobbie Bailey of Haverhill, and Maxine Donahue and her husband, Larry, of Amesbury, Mass.; two sons, William Bailey and his wife, Dottie, of Epping, N.H., and Michael Bailey of Winston, Mo.; a brother, Howard Bailey and his wife, Helen, of Haverhill; a sister, Pearl Bassie, formerly of Haverhill; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
