Newbury, MA — Gloria Fairbrother passed away peacefully on Good Friday with her family at her side. She was born in Haverhill, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Albert and Odiele (Paradis) Foisy. She was the beloved wife of many years to Arthur Fairbrother.
Gloria was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Parish and the St. Anne's Sodality, and was a member of the Plum Island Mothers Club from the 1960s to 1980s. She enjoyed knitting, crochet, and sewing, and belonged to the Sociable's Sewing Club. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping and traveling. She most enjoyed being with her family that she cherished and will be sadly missed by all of them.
Besides her husband, Arthur, she is survived by her children, daughter, Sharon J. Ouellet and husband, Jerry, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sons, Steven A. Fairbrother and his partner, Paul Allain of South Lawrence, Mass., and Gary Fairbrother and his wife, Jeannie, of Amesbury, Mass.; one sister, Alice Poirier of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Shanna Paul and husband, Lee, Chantal Ouellet and Seth Fitzgerald; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Jacob Paul; her dear friends, Nancy and Alec Dawson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Amidas "Jake" Sayers, Winifred Dupont, Ruth Klinch, and Louise Ayers.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m., in the Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St., Amesbury, followed by burial in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, are on Tuesday, April 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the charity of one's choice.
