Lynn, MA — Mr. Donald B. Livermore, age 96, of Wilmington, formerly of Lynn, died Monday at a local nursing home, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Taimi M. (Peterson) Livermore. Born in Wauchula, Fla., he was the son of the late Ernest J. and Esther G. (Croft) Livermore. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.
Donald served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a bombardier in Europe. He retired from the United States Air Force, as a Major, after 20 years of service in the Reserve. He worked as an assembler for General Electric in Lynn for 44 years until his retirement in 1980. Donald was a volunteer for the Lynn Historical Society. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Lynn. Earlier in his life, he attended St. Stephens Memorial Episcopal Church in Lynn. He was an avid reader.
He is survived by three sons, Stephen C. Spanger and his wife, Nancy of Newbury, Charles A. Spanger and his wife Lenore of Scarborough, Maine, and Donald E. Livermore and his wife, Judith of Wilmington; one daughter, Janice M. Espinoza and her husband, Thomas of Tempe, Ariz.; as well as his grandchildren, Kristin Flaherty, Amy Spanger, Stephen Spanger, Erica Siegfried, Maxwell Spanger, Alena Spanger, Dr. Kimberly Espinoza, Gloria Minnihan, Susan Livermore and D.J. Livermore, and eight great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Henry J., Wilbur J. and Dorothy Livermore, and Margarite McIntire.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lynn Historical Society, 590 Washington St., Lynn, MA 01901.
