Cranston, RI — Marion A. “Mazie” (Frost) Andersen, 67, of Cranston, Rhode Island, formerly of Plum Island, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Bruce “Andy” Andersen. Mazie and Andy met on Plum Island in 1960, while she was working at the Lighthouse Grille and Andy was stationed at the U.S. Coast Guard.
One of nine children of the late Albert R. and Edna (Rouff) Frost of Plum Island, Mazie was born in Methuen on November 26, 1944 and was raised in West Boxford and Plum Island, graduating from Newburyport High School, Class of 1962.
She leaves behind her two children, Michael Andersen and Jennifer Sansone of Cranston, RI; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Charles of Raymond, NH; Jack and partner Cindy LaCasse of Raymond, NH; Alberta and husband Bob of Epping, NH; Richard and wife Patricia of Sanford, ME; Albert, Jr. and wife Donna of Stratham, NH; Robert and wife Janet of Hampton Falls, NH; Allen “Ray” and wife Marcia of Newburyport; and David and wife Kerri of Amesbury; along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom are truly saddened by her loss.
Mazie was devoted to her family, loved to travel, and also loved to bake, especially at the Holidays, when she would make her famous Swedish Tea Rings and her endless trays of festive cookies.
