Amesbury, MA. — Janette Tirone, 77, died peacefully in her home in Amesbury, surrounded by her family. She was born in Newburyport, and was the daughter of the late Doris (Wilson) Bourque. She was the devoted wife of the late James V. Tirone, who passed away in December of 1999.
She was a longtime member of the Women's Professional Candlepin Bowler's Tour and a beloved member of the Inverness Moose Lodge in Florida for many years. She was known for her quick wit, and brought joy and laughter to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed by her friends and family both here and in Florida.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Tirone of Amesbury; three daughters, Robin Hudson and her fiancé, Jayne King, of Deerfield, N.H., Gina Tirone and her husband, Robert Fothergill, of Rochester, N.H., and Alicia Moore and her husband, Peter, of Amesbury, with whom Janette made her home. She also leaves eight grandchildren, James Tirone, Jeffrey, David, and Jillian Hudson, Kelli Murphy and her boyfriend, Chad Grethe, Stephen Murphy and his wife, Maggie, Katelyn Moore, Ryan Moore and his wife, Kylee; seven great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kelci, Ellie, Sage, Jaxon, Haven, and Roman; two brothers, Richard Chase of Amesbury, and Ronald Chase and his wife, Faith, of Raymond, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Chase, Fred Chase Jr. and Frank "Butch" Chase.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be held at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, on Wednesday, July 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the ACE Program of the Amesbury Senior Center Council on Aging, c/o Ashley Stuart, 68 Elm St., Amesbury, Ma. 01913.
