Antoinette Silvey

Amesbury — Antoinette “Toni” “Toto” Silvey, of Amesbury, MA, recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, unapologetically cut the line into Heaven, while rocking color-coordinated pajamas to the tunes of Bob Dylan, just as the sun rose on January 31, 2014. She died peacefully—with serenity, grace and anticipatory excitement - in the loving arms of her sister. Born in Boston, on June 3, 1978 (not really), Toni was the daughter of the late Mary Difonzo Itturralde and Benny Debellis. She grew up in Revere and credited her devoted sister, Marianna Parker Lozzi of Sebastian, FL and her brother, Frank Bettencourt of Salisbury, MA with raising her. Feel free to blame them for any mistakes she made in life. Toni’s son, John, is her Forever Valentine; her daughter, Jaclyn, she loves to Infinity. God blessed “Nana Toni” with beautiful grandchildren, Lillyana, Isabella, Giovanni, and Mia-Grace. Toni is survived by her dear friend and bonus daughter, Tara Silvey; younger brothers, Ernest, Salvatore and Trinidad Itturralde; Hal and Scarlett Hernandez and enough aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws, exes, whys, adoptees and cousins to create much Italian drama over who loved Toni most. She was predeceased by her dear friend, Ronnie Kontz. Remembered always for her exuberant self-expression, her resilience, her loyalty, her faith and her fierce independence, Toni will be truly missed by an entire fellowship of friends with whom she shared experience, strength and hope.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Amesbury area at a later date. Memories, condolences, favorite recipes, myths and legends may be posted on her tribute page at www.facebook.com/ToniSilveyupdates. Donations in Antoinette’s memory may be made to Central New Hampshire VNA and Hospice, 780 N. Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246. In addition to donating to Hospice, Toni asked that we take the time to slow dance with a friend, pay attention to sunsets and share the miracle, one day at a time.
