HAVERHILL — Mrs. Antoinette B. (DiPiro) Esposito, 101, formerly of Haverhill, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 at the Country Rehab and Nursing Center in Newburyport.
She was born in Italy on Oct. 12, 1908, daughter of the late Ralph and Erminia (Saccucci) DiPiro. She came to the U.S. at the age of 6, and was educated in the Haverhill Schools. She went to work as a young woman in the local shoe industry, employed at the former Shain Shoe. She was referred to as the "best press operator in the business."
For over 80 years, she lived in the family home on River Street in Haverhill. She was a former member of St. George's Parish and current member of All Saints Parish in Haverhill. The past two years, Mrs. Esposito resided at the Elizabeth Calsey House in Amesbury.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Esposito and is survived by her sons, Joseph A. and his wife Sandra Esposito, and Ralph J. Esposito and his wife Roslin, all of Newburyport and Florida; her daughter, Mary Ann Esposito of San Jose, Calif.; grandchildren, Sheila Wells of Florida, Michael Esposito of Florida, and Richard Muise of Penacook, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Carrie Wells, Andrea Smith, Justin and Jonathan Muise; as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Monday, Sept. 20, at 9 a.m. from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at All Saints Church, Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
