Amesbury, MA — Stella Mary (Kozacka) Slemp, age 96, longtime resident of Amesbury, died peacefully Monday morning at Kindred Hospital in Peabody. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Slemp, who died May 15, 1996.
Born in Newburyport, September 9, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Bronislow and Aniela (Gorak) Kozacka and was a graduate of Amesbury High School.
Stella was a longtime organist at St. Joseph’s Church in Amesbury, delighting countless people with her musical expertise.
Her love of music was only surpassed by her love of family, who brought her so much joy throughout her life.
Her survivors include her son, Paul W. Slemp and wife, Evelyn, of Exeter, N.H.; her three grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Zachary, Mitchell and Alexandra, along with her brother, Robert Kozacka and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School St., Amesbury, followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury.
