Alice L. Peltier, 94, of Newburyport, passed away Monday March 19, 2012, at the Port Healthcare Center. She was born in Hamilton, MA., and was a graduate of Hamilton High School with the class of 1935. She was the wife of the late Roland Peltier, whom she married in 1936.
She was employed as a cashier for many years at the former First National Food Stores and Richer's Market in Amesbury. She had also waitressed at Amesbury Golf and Country Club part time. She was a wonderful cook and truly enjoyed time spent with her family and singing and playing the organ at church functions.
Alice is survived by her son, David Peltier of Beloit, WI, her daughter Suzanne Scaglioni of Haverhill, MA, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and a sister.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services for Alice will be held this Saturday, March 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Newburyport Assembly of God Church, 13 Hale St. in Newburyport. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Amesbury. A visitation will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the E.V. Jutras & Sons funeral Home, 118 friend St. in Amesbury.
