Exeter, NH — William “Bill” Henry Bothwell, 89, died June 17, at Exeter Center, Exeter, N.H., after a period of failing health.
He was born November 26, 1923, in Newburyport, Mass., and was the son of the late James Henry Bothwell and Anna (Campbell) Bothwell.
Bill grew up in Newburyport, and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy during WW II, he married Gertrude “Trudy” Dingley. Bill was employed most of his working life as a farmer – for the Moseley Estate in Newburyport, the Raedar Farm in Stratham, N.H., and lastly and for the most years, with Scammon Farm in Stratham. Over the years, Bill and his family resided in Stratham and Greenland, and he moved to Newmarket in the late 1970s.
Bill is survived by his son, Bruce Bothwell; daughters, Kathleen Bacheldor, Karen Bothwell-Bond; his beloved grandson and great grandson, Christopher and Kalib Bothwell; great granddaughter, Danielle; and his sisters, Marion Bothwell, Joyce Bothwell; sister and brother-in-law, Sybil and Antoni Diehl; brother Richard Bothwell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Trudy in 1966; his son, Daniel Hall Bothwell; his son, William Murphy Bothwell; his granddaughter, Dana Melissa Bothwell; and his brother, Rolvin Bothwell.
ARRANGEMENTS: There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport.
