Newburyport — Alfred H. Clausnitzer, Sr., 82, of Newburyport, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, June 2. Alfred was born in Groveland, Mass., on August 18, 1930, to the late Alfred and Doris (Hardy) Clausnitzer. Alfred was a local self-employed electrician, and also was an inspector or assistant inspector in Newburyport, Salisbury, Newbury, and West Newbury. During his spare time, Alfred and his late wife, Jean, enjoyed traveling and their dogs. Alfred served his country proudly with the U.S. Navy.
Alfred was the beloved husband of the late, Jean E. (Hogan) Clausnitzer, and is survived by his children, Alfred Clausnitzer Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Salisbury, Jeannie Dunn and her husband, Stephen, of Ocala, Fla., and Arthur Clausnitzer Sr. and his wife, Virginia, of Groveland; his 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; his friend, Jean Fairbanks of Groveland, with whom they shared High School Prom King and Queen; his sister, Mary Peabody of Lynn; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Clausnitzer of Groveland; as well as many nieces and nephews. Alfred was predeceased by his brother, Walter Clausnitzer.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his graveside Service on Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m., in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport.
