Margaret "Peggy" C. Stone, 73

Rowley, MA — On June 6, 2013, Peggy passed away at home in Rowley, Mass., surrounded by family. Peggy was 73 years old. Peggy was born in Cambridge, Mass., on December 24, 1939, to Robert A. Stone (deceased) and Opal I. Stone. She was the beloved sister of William F. Stone (deceased), Mary F. Stone Wilson, Arthur Stone (deceased) and Kathleen D. Stone Schildbach.

Peggy was a dedicated nurse. Earning her RN was her proudest achievement. She attended Addison Gilbert Hospital School of Nursing, North Shore Community College, Northeastern University, and Saint Anselm College; and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing and healthcare administration. For many years, Peggy served in high risk nurseries and managed maternity wards in hospitals throughout the region. Peggy retired from North Shore Community College where she was an instructor for many years in the nursing program.

Peggy is survived by her mother, Opal I. Stone; sisters, Mary and Kathleen; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and her much loved German Shepherds, Madeleine and Gretel. Peggy rescued several homeless dogs and wished that she be remembered by donations to the Humane Society and the German Shepherd Resource & Rescue Center, P.O. Box 57, Hathorne, MA 01937.
