Amesbury, MA — Mr. David W. Thompson, 57, formerly of Amesbury, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, after a long illness. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Everett and Josephine (Spina) Thompson. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Technical Vocational High School. David lived in Amesbury, Newton, N.H., Salem, N.H., and last in Gloucester.
David was an Air Force Veteran of the Viet Nam Era. David loved Harley Davidson’s Motorcycles, and collecting Harley memorabilia.
He enjoyed Bike Week and the Harley Rendezvous in upstate New York. He was a musician who played guitar and was in a local band called Free Fall. He enjoyed fishing and golf. David worked for over 25 years at the Shepard Auto Body in Newburyport.
David is survived by a brother, Dennis E. Thompson and his wife, Susie, of Greencastle, Ind.; a sister, Lisa C. Hickel and her husband, James, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; his nieces, Christy Currier, Tabitha Wells and Tiffany Thompson; his longtime friends, Brian and Tammi Richardson, Wayne and Suzy Elliot, and Ralph Curtis, who he treated as a son, and several cousins. He also leaves his half brothers and half sister, Fred Durgin and Brian Thompson and Kim Thompson; stepbrother, Ron Parrish and stepsister, Wanda Kilroy.
ARRANGEMENTS: David’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 4 p.m. in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St., (Route 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Private burial in Rowley Cemetery.
