Richard M. Greaney, 65

Goffstown, NH — Richard M. Greaney died unexpectedly Friday at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Born in Newburyport, MA., he was the son of the late Hubert and Elizabeth (Osgood) Greaney.

He graduated from Haverhill Trade School and New Hampshire Technical College. Dick was a proud representative of UAW Local #1913 for many years, working for 31 years at Venture Bailey and the last 5 years at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Hudson, NH until his retirement. He was an avid muscle car fan and loved many of the Chevy models of the '50s and '60s. Dick's great passion was fishing, both fresh and salt water, and his idea of heaven was a day on the water, sitting in the sun, and if he caught a fish, that was a bonus. He will be missed from the Marathons on the Yellow Bird and the hunt for haddock and cod. Dick had a huge capacity to live, love, and laugh. His motto was to live life to the fullest and he did. He left his mark on this earth and in the hearts of his family and friends. His wife Kathy wishes to thank the 911 operator, all those from the Goffstown Police, the Chaplain, Fire and Ambulance Depts. who responded to our home on March 1. These individuals worked so hard and passionately to bring Dick back to us but it was not to be. May God bless you all.

Besides his wife Kathy Hatcher, he is survived by his siblings, Donna Fraize of Epping, NH., Thomas Greaney of Ohio, and Scott and Dale Greaney, both of Maine, his nephews Edward, Gregory, and Shawne Fraize, one great-niece and two great-nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Dick's funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 11:00 am at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St. in Amesbury, Ma. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, March 6 from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warriors Project or to your local Salvation Army.
