Seabrook, NH — Vivian D. (Corliss) Marland, 80, of Seabrook, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Massachusetts General Hospital, with her loving daughter by her side.
She was born in Stoneham, Mass., on June 8, 1934, and was a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Christina (Neal) Corliss.
Vivian was a Seabrook resident for most of her life, and a graduate of Amesbury High School. She was employed for a short time at Hytron of Newburyport, Mass., and retired after 25 years at Raytheon of Andover, Mass. Vivian married her husband of nearly 45 years, Joseph L. Marland, in 1969. She and Joe loved square dancing in their earlier years, and for the last 17 years, spent the winters in Ruskin, Fla. She enjoyed crafting, knitting and crocheting, and gifted many of her gorgeous works to her family and friends. Sending a card, or placing a call, Vivian rarely forgot a birthday. Online games gave her hours of enjoyment and friends all over the world. She was a kind and compassionate woman whose love for family was unsurpassed. Family was her life and she especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.
In addition to her husband Joe; and her daughter, Vicki-Lynn Downs of Seabrook and her companion, Allen Winter, family members include her stepsons, Michael Marland and his wife, Sue, of Spofford, and Stephen Boyce of Plymouth; her stepdaughter, Audrey Crowe of Franconia; her sisters, Patricia Corliss of Rochester, Carolyn Yoder and her husband, Earl, of Laporte, Ind., Margie Knowles of Nappanee, Ind., and Audrey Eaton of Seabrook; her 14 grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Vivian was predeceased by her son, Timothy M. McInnis; her stepson, Edward Marland; her brother, Lawrence Corliss; and her sister, Winifred Jacques.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may visit, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Tuesday, July 8, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home–Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home, at 12 p.m., following the visitation. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.
