SALISBURY, MA — Deborah J. Spurling, 58, originally from Salisbury, Mass., passed away suddenly at her home due to complications from her diabetes in Marietta, Ga., on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
Deborah was born September 10, 1955, in Ipswich, Mass., to her mother, Dorothy M. Spurling of Seabrook, N.H., and her late father, Robert E. Spurling Sr. of Rowley, Mass.
She attended Newburyport and Triton High Schools. She also received her associate degree in medical transcribing while she in Georgia. She started her working career at an early age at the family restaurant, Sailor Bill’s in Salisbury. She worked as a medical assistant while living in Georgia. She also survived a tough battle with breast cancer with a brave attitude and a smile on her face.
She was a very devoted and loving mother to her only daughter, Amanda Spurling of Kennesaw, Ga. She loved being with friends, family, going to the beach, and gardening. She was also involved with Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga.
In addition to her daughter Amanda, she is survived by her mother, Dorothy Spurling of Seabrook; three sisters, Gail Lockard of Exeter, N.H., Diane Ward of Seabrook, Tanya Clifford and her husband, Billy, of Salisbury; and her only brother, Robert Spurling of Nashua, N.H.
She also leaves her nieces and nephews, who she absolutely loved and adored, Sherri Duda of Exeter, Kerri Ward of Salisbury and Kristin Ward of Boston, Graydon Lockard III of Salisbury, Anthony DiNardo of Brentwood, N.H., and Zachary Curran of Salisbury. She also left three great-nephews and a great-niece.
