Salisbury, MA — Sarah L. (Gould) Brown, age 88, former Salisbury resident, died Thursday afternoon, March 7, 2013 at Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Newburyport, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Newburyport, April 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Forrest E. Gould and Nellie A. (Sargent) Gould Willis.
For many years Sarah had worked at Ruth Shoe Company in Newburyport and at Eastern Canvas as well as having worked as a clam shucker.
Devoted to her family, Sarah loved spending time with them. Whether baby-sitting grandchildren or great-grandchildren or preparing for a family gathering, she was always happiest when doing something with her family. They were her Life.
Predeceased by her husband, Reginald P. Brown, Sr., she is survived by her three daughters, Carol Hull, her caretaker for many years, and husband Joseph, Brenda Dunn and husband Chester, and Florence Moran and husband Kenneth, all of Salisbury, her son, Reginald P. Brown, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Amesbury, 10 grandchildren, Scott Dunn of Seabrook, NH, Kevin Dunn of Salisbury, Joseph Hull and wife Allison of Amesbury, Rhonda Hailson and husband Gerard of Salisbury, Gene Coffey of Amesbury, Shawn Coffee and wife Robin of Seabrook, NH, Lynn, Brian and Eric Brown of Amesbury and Kendall Mark Watson and wife Karisa of Manchester, N.H.; 19 great-grandchildren, Kory Mitchell and Alec Dunn, Cortney and Sarah Hailson, Ashley and Jacob Hull, Tayla and Hayden Coffey, Jessica, Jaycob, Sarah, Alexis, Brianna, Nicole, Mikayla and Sophia Brown, and Britney, Tyler and Brian Watson; her sister, Elsie Ziehler and husband Robert of Amesbury; along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her aunt and namesake, Sarah VanAmburgh, who was like a second mother to her; her sister, Florence Gould, three grandsons, Reginald Brown, Derek Dunn and Jason Brown as well as two babies in infancy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon immediately followed by services at the funeral home at 12 Noon with interment in Belleville Cemetery, Newburyport.
