Simone C. Begin, 96

Amesbury, MA — Simone Begin, a longtime Amesbury resident, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cookshire, Quebec and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Georgiana (Cloutier) Dumont. She was the wife of the late Gustave Begin who passed away in 1980.

She came to Amesbury as a toddler and attended Sacred Heart Academy. She became a hairdresser and for many years, owned and operated Simone's Beauty Shop.

She is survived by one sister, Claire "Geri" Farmer of Amesbury and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Simon Dumont and Dolores Lee.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St. in Amesbury with interment to follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours and donations in her name may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA 01843 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
