Merrimac, MA — Linda (Griffin) Turgiss, beloved wife of 31 years to Alan P. Turgiss, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2013.
Born in Saugus, Mass., on March 1, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Griffin and Janet (Drouin) Griffin. She dedicated her life to a loving family, enriching the lives of many that she encountered in her role as daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt. Aside from her dedication to the well-being of her husband, son and daughter, Linda had a love for children and animals. She worked within the Pentucket Regional School District for many years in various positions for an extended time, and worked with the Before & After School Program.
Last year Linda and her best friend, Tammy, opened a pet care business. She was passionate, caring and tried to bring hope and happiness to all she met. Linda found time to volunteer at the local Big Friends Little Friends, working as a mentor for the past few years.
Linda is survived by her husband, Alan; her daughter, Alana, along with her husband, Alex Griffin, of Lawrence; her son, Matthew of Merrimac; and her brother, Paul Griffin and his fiancée, Tammy Sanders, of Newton, N.H.; nephew, Sam Griffin; and niece, Katie-Leigh Turgiss of Saugus.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, Friday, September 20, 2013, at 11 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Lupus Foundation of America, the American Heart Association, or the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or the charity of your choice.
