Amesbury — Dennis G. Massey, Sr., 83, of Amesbury, died peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the Country Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Newburyport.
Mr. Massey was born March 23, 1930, in Shamrock, Okla. He was the son of the late Floyd and Lucy (Hatfield) Massey.
Dennis lived in Amesbury since 1960. He worked for Haverhill Paperboard Company for several years before retiring in 1995.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country honorably during the Korean War.
Family members include his wife of over 58 years, Christina (Schwechheimer) Massey of Amesbury; his sons, Ronald Massey and his wife, Barbara, of Haverhill and Dennis Massey, Jr., of Louisville, Ky.; his daughter, Lucy Kohler of Danvers; as well as his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several brothers and sisters, Virginia Massey, Betty Plank, Jimmy Massey, Wayne Massey, and Marilyn Sue Fultz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by his son, John Massey; his brothers, Floyd Massey, Jr., Leonard Bud Massey, James Charles Massey, Bobby Joe Massey; and his sisters, Rancie Hughes and Joyce Binkley.
