HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. — John S. Alkire, 45, of Hampton Falls, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Laconia from injuries sustained in a skiing accident.
He was born May 27, 1965 in Newburyport, the son of Jean A. Alkire of Hampton Falls and the late Walter C. Alkire.
John was raised in Newburyport and lived most of his life in Hampton Falls. He was a pilot for Citation Airlines of New York, previous to this he flew for U.S. Airlines. He and his wife own and operate Favorite Fuels LLC of Hampton Falls.
He was a devoted son, husband and father. His greatest joy was his family and enjoyed all outside activities with his children. John's love of life, infectious laugh, and entrepreneurial spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, family members include his wife of 18 years, Lynne (Murch) Alkire of Hampton Falls; his children, Matthew and Lauren Alkire of Hampton Falls; his siblings, Stephen W. Alkire, Scott E. Alkire, Richard C. Alkire, James M. Alkire and Janet S. Thompson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The family requests family flowers only and no visiting hours. Burial will be private.
