Ronald 'Scott' Hanson, 53

Raymond N.H. — Ronald "Scott" Hanson, 53, of Raymond N.H., died unexpectedly on June 1,2013, at his residence with his wife at his side.

Scott was born in Newburyport on June 8,1959, to the late Ronald and Helen (Buzzell) Hanson.

Scott was disabled following a construction accident and spent his days at home with his three beloved dogs. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed rebuilding classic cars and metal detecting. Scott lived for a while in Cape Coral Florida, and was looking forward to retiring there one day because he loved boating and being by the water. Most importantly, he adored spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Lay) Hanson of Raymond N.H.; his son, Keith S. Hanson and his daughter, Leann Hanson, also both of Raymond. Also among his survivors are his grandchildren, Tyler, Broderick and Madyson Dupuy; his uncle, Paul Hanson of Grapevine, Texas; his sister, Dawn Fairbanks of West Newbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was especially close to his father-in-law, Richard G. Lay of Groveland, whom he considered his second father. Scott was predeceased by his father, Ronald A. Hanson and his two-year-old brother, who both died in a tragic home fire on December 21,1962. He was also predeceased by his mother Joyce (Buzzell) Hanson who died in 2002, as well as his grandmother Mildred Bridges who co-raised him as her own son.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 8,2013, at 10 a.m., at the Groveland Congregation Church.

Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Merton E.Rogers Jr. And Conte Funeral Home,14 Pleasant St., Georgetown.
