formerly of Amesbury — Mr. John J. "Jack" Tirone Jr., 77, formerly of Amesbury, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, March 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Newburyport, he was the son of the late John Tirone Sr. and Rose Anna (Cote) Tirone.
Jack was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jack retired from Process Engineering in Plaistow, N.H. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jack enjoyed wood carving in his spare time and spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife Sandra, Jack is survived by his children, Chris Tirone and his partner, Christine, of Hawley; Jennifer Pesce and her husband, Michael, of Lake Mary, Fla.; Lauren Tirone of Newmarket, N.H.; Phillip Conneilly and his wife, Karen, of Marietta, Ga.; Kim Conneilly of Townsend; and Scott Conneilly and his wife, Alisa, of Methuen; his sisters, Alice Gooding and her husband, Capt. Robert Gooding, of Melbourne, Fla.; D. Joan Robinson and her husband, Don, of Danville, Va.; Dianne Payne of Davie, Fla.; and Arlene Kelley of Kittery, Maine; his brothers, Paul Tirone and his wife, Sharron, of Amesbury; and Thomas Tirone and his wife, Katherine, of Ellington, Conn.; eight grandchildren, Joseph Pesce, Savanna Conneilly, Teagan Conneilly, Tiffany Conneilly, Anthony Conneilly, Kevin Conneilly, Scott Conneilly and Nathan Shake. Jack was predeceased by his brother, Vincent Tirone.
