Newburyport — Barbara S. (Langmaid) Gilman, 84, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport.
Born in Newburyport on August 14, 1928, she had resided in the Newburyport area her entire life. She was the daughter of the late, Ernest and Grace (Hanna) Langmaid. Barbara graduated from Newburyport High School in the class of 1947. Following high school, Barbara entered the U.S. Navy and served in the “Waves” during the Korean Conflict. Barbara worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport for over 30 years. She enjoyed taking photographs and going to the beach, most especially to Plum Island. Her greatest enjoyment was gardening and caring for her flowers. She was a member of the Sea Spray Garden Club in Salisbury.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Debra Adams and her husband, Walter of Wolcott, Conn. and Donna Morris and her husband, Douglas of Salisbury; her brother, Norman Langmaid and his wife, Nancy of Flemington, N.J.; her grandchildren, Nicolas Morris and his wife, Liz of Salisbury and Eric Morris in the U.S. Army; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, her twin brother, Kenneth Langmaid and Clifford Langmaid.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25 at 11 a.m. in the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. Burial will follow in the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley.
