Arnold E. Dalton, 83

Salisbury — Arnold E. Dalton, 83, of Salisbury, died Friday February 8, 2013 at Exeter Hospital. Arnold was born in Rome, Maine, on June 10, 1929, to the late Clyde B. and Edna L. (French) Dalton. He was educated in the Belgrade Lakes school system and served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean War.

Mr. Dalton had been employed by Anna Jaques Hospital for many years and retired in 1994. More recently, he worked for the N.H. Department of Transportation at the Hampton tolls. He was a member of the D.A.V. and the Dalton Genealogical Society of the U.K.

He is survived by Emilda (Poulin), his wife of 57 years; his son, Stephen and wife, Jamy Dalton, of Raymond, N.H.; his three daughters, Cynthia and husband, Henry Borne, of Lebanon, Maine; Stephanie and husband, Stephen, Alkire of Brentwood, N.H.; and Marcia Dalton and fiancé, Kevin Ness, of Hampton, N.H. Also among his survivors are sisters, Dorothy Jenness of Clovis, Calif., and Irene Furbush of North Belgrade, Maine. Arnold is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Andrew, Cassandra and Meredith Borne; Sean and Kiley Alkire and Joshua and Jacob Arnold Dalton, as well as, three great-grandchildren, Ambriel Borne Moore, Clover and Elliot Borne and several nieces and nephews. Arnold was pre-deceased by three brothers, Ronald, Danny and Clyde Dalton; and two sisters, Virginia Verville and Evelyn Cayford.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Twomey, LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport. A funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Corpus Christi Parish, St John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument Street, Winslow, Maine, at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville, Maine. Reception to follow at the Waterville Grand Hotel, 375 Main Street, Waterville, Maine.
