Ann F. Murphy-Walsh


NEWBURYPORT — Ann Faye Murphy-Walsh died at the Anna Jaques Hospital early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010, after a short critical illness.

Born, July 18, 1941, in Newburyport, she lived her young life in Amesbury graduating from Amesbury High School. With her mother and father, she moved to Newburyport in the early 50s.

She worked for the telephone company for a few years, when she was young, and then spent 34 years at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover where she was a department manager. She enjoyed traveling to Italy, England and almost yearly to Ireland where she met her husband, Pat. Together they cruised to Nassau and the Bahamas and made many trips to Florida and New Orleans. When she wasn't sewing, making crafts or baking, she would spend time working in her yard. She'll be remembered for her love and generosity to her family, particularly her niece and nephews.

Faye is survived by her husband, Patrick; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and David Crowley, Newburyport; her niece, Maureen Crowley, Amesbury; her nephews, Michael Crowley, Bangkok, Thailand, Mark Crowley, Marietta, Georgia; Martin Crowley and his wife Samantha of Seattle, Matthew Crowley and his wife Kelly of Newburyport, and Myles Crowley and his wife Yumiko, Nagoya of Japan. She also leaves her beloved great-nieces and nephews, Kelsey, Patrick, Meaghan, Caroline, Jack and Lily.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass was held at Immaculate Conception Church, Newburyport on July 27, 2010. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
