Newburyport, MA — Jacqueline passed away peacefully on December 21, 2013, at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers, Mass.
She was one of the youngest of seven children born to the late Alphonse and Marguerite Gallant. She graduated from Ipswich High School with the Class of 1953. "Jackie," as she was known to many of her friends, was a longtime resident of Newburyport and was employed for many years at Gould's Electronics. Jackie's true passion in life was her family and friends. She loved reading, walking around Newburyport, driving around with her son, shopping with her daughter, and laughing. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed, but her memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Scott Spyrka and wife, Katy, of Sebastopol, Calif., and Ann Hunt and husband, Scott, of Byfield, Mass.; and six grandchildren, Brittani, Kelsey, and Andrew Spyrka, and Brandon, Shawn and Jessica Hunt. She is also survived by her nephew, Dan Cole of Ipswich, who held a special place in her heart; along with many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial celebration of life services will be held at Whittier Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich, on Saturday, March 22, at 9 a.m., with reception at Ipswich Bed & Breakfast, 2 East St., Ipswich at 12:30 p.m. Burial services will be private.
